The Ecobarometer 2022 of Citizenship is a tool used to measure the relative weight that the inhabitants of 3 metropolitan areas of Bolivia attribute to aspects that impact the quality of their environmental surroundings and the level of commitment of the citizens.

The information that the Ecobarometer makes available to the population comes from public opinion surveys that are carried out every 4 years in the most populated urban agglomerations in the country: La Paz and El Alto and their urban expansion to the adjoining municipalities, the Kanata metropolitan area which includes Cochabamba and the urban areas of another 6 municipalities, and Santa Cruz with the urban areas of neighboring municipalities.The Ecobarometer is a social instrument that contributes to expanding the exercise of environmental citizenship.
Through the analysis of survey data, it generates relevant knowledge for public action, about the different ways that citizens have to relate to the environment.For Citizenship, the environment has a strategic social dimension.
Through the Ecobarometer, it contributes to the objective of promoting and supporting political action from civil society, focused on environmental issues that have the potential to produce public value and contribute to the strengthening of democracy.Universe considered: 5,462,740 people from the municipalities that make up the urban expansion zones of La Paz, Santa Cruz and Cochabamba.Sample size: 1,502 people over 18 years of age from the municipalities of La Paz, El Alto, Viacha, Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Warnes, La Guardia, Cochabamba, Sacaba, Quillacollo, Vinto and Tiquipaya.Sampling type: random, multistage and stratified by metropolitan area, sex and age.
Margin of error of: +/- 2.72 percentage points, at a confidence level of 95%.
